The 50th anniversary reminded us just how much Toot Hill Dance Band has meant to so many people over the years.
It also reminded us how good it was simply to be back in touch.
So rather than waiting for the next big anniversary, we’d like to keep that connection going.
Toot Hill Dance Band Lives On brings together former members, families and friends from every generation of the band — keeping us connected with each other, with our shared history and with the band as it continues today through Bingham Community Big Band.
What does being a supporter mean?
Most importantly, it means remaining part of the band community.
As a supporter, we’ll keep you in touch with:
- news from the band and its members;
- photographs and discoveries from our growing archive;
- stories and memories from across the generations;
- supporters’ gatherings and reunion events;
- special concerts and occasions;
- opportunities to reconnect with old friends;
- news about today’s Bingham Community Big Band and the young musicians now becoming part of the story.
We’d also love supporters to help us build the band’s history by sharing photographs, programmes, recordings and memories from their own time with Toot Hill.
Helping the next generation
There is another way you can be part of what comes next.
Bingham Community Big Band is now a registered charity, bringing musicians of different generations together and creating opportunities for young people to develop their playing, confidence and experience.
For those supporters who would like to contribute financially, donations can help us provide instruments, workshops, specialist musical opportunities and support for young musicians where financial circumstances might otherwise be a barrier.
There is no expectation that everyone should give. Your connection with the band matters to us whether or not you choose to make a financial contribution.
But for those who would like to give something back, even a modest regular donation can help ensure that another generation gets to experience what Toot Hill gave to so many of us.
